ICT’s consultant team participated in a field survey in Bac Van Phong, Khanh Hoa

On September 25, the mission led by Vice President of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu conducted a field survey within the area where is expected to establish Bac Van Phong special economic administration unit in Khanh Hoa province. The mission also includes Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh, Chairman of National Assembly Law Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duy Bac, Vice President of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and consultant team of ICT Consultancy Company. 

The mission conducted the field survey in Dam Mon area (Van Thanh commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province) and went by boat for surveying Van Phong bay. At the survey,  Head of Van Phong economic area Hoang Dinh Phi management unit reported the advantages in establishment of Bac Van Phong special economic – administrative unit.

From results of the survey, this area has about 30 projects under being implemented. Recently there has been an enterprise proposing investment in this area. It has a good region linking in the future thanks to Deo Ca road tunnel and being near from Tuy Hoa airport. The seaport here has an average depth of 24m, and an international shipping route is 14 miles from the coast making the waterway convenient.

Bac Van Phong special economic – administrative unit is expected to have the area of about 60,000 ha, of which 19,000 ha is mainland and islands, and 40,000 ha is water surface in Van Ninh district. This is a deep-water seaport with a good geographical position and capability of seaport service development, especially sea ecology resort. The objective of Bac Van special economic – administrative unit is to become a great and modern service – tourism centre of the region and the world; creating motivation for economic development in Khanh Hoa province, South Central Coast and Central Highlands.

As planned, Bac Van Phong and Van Don (Quang Ninh) and Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) will become three special economic – administrative units of the whole country. The Ministry of Planning and Investment is expected that from year 2020 onwards these special units will spill over, and increasing GDP of the locality with billions of USD every year.
