Investigation and assessment of Water & Sanitation Program's impacts on disease conditions of children under 5

Informatics Commerce Technology and Consultancy Co., Ltd has carried out a research on “Assessment of Water & Sanitation Program’s impacts on disease conditions of children under 5” within the For Child Survival Program funded by United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
 
Within the cooperation program between UNICEF and Ministry of Health, Vietnam, the Health Environmental Management Agency coordinated with ICT to carry out a research on “Assessment of Water & Sanitation Program’s impacts on disease conditions of children under 5”. The contract is a part of For Child Survival Program funded by United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Its objective is to collect scientific evidences and demonstrate the impacts of drinking water and sanitation interventions on the disease conditions of children under five. The Program aims at speeding up the achievement of Millennium Goal related to sanitation in disadvantaged areas of Vietnam. Thanks to the research, priorities will be redefined for drinking-water and sanitation intervention actions. In parallel, useful data will be provided to the communication activities in terms of drinking water and environmental sanitation.
 

Contract details:

 

Investigate the situations of drinking water and sanitation in households.

In-depth interview with the mothers of children under five, the officers in charge of drinking water and sanitation, and local authorities.

ICT carried out site survey in two communes, i.e. Na Tau and Thanh Nua, of Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province.

Survey duration: From November 19 to November 26, 2014.
